More European Union Workers Could Benefit from VoIP Solutions
A recent report from the statistical office of the European Union Eurostat notes that a growing percentage of employees in the EU could soon benefit from mobile VoIP solutions.
According to the report, 47 percent of all enterprises used mobile broadband connections this year. That percentage is a major uptick from the 27 percent who used such technology only a year ago.
The study shows that between 2010 and 2011, the share of enterprises with mobile broadband connections increased in all member states, with the largest gains witnessed in Estonia, Germany, Greece and France. The largest share of businesses with access in 2011 was found in Finland, Sweden and Austria. On the flip side, member states with the least amount of shares proved to be Romania, Latvia and Poland.
According to a recent Ofcom study, super fast broadband is showing to be increasingly more available in the United Kingdom and faster than other parts of the EU.
By June of 2011, research shows that 59 percent of households in the UK were able to connect to a high-speed link, compared with three percent of Germans.
Recent analysis indicates that in the EU27, businesses take advantage of all the Internet has to offer, including marketing information on a Web site, offering online shopping facilities to customers and interacting with public authorities.
In the EU27, 95 percent of enterprises were able to access the Internet in January of this year, while the share of enterprises using a fix broadband connection to access the Internet increased minimally from 84 percent in 2010 to 87 percent this year. Meantime, the usage of mobile broadband connections by enterprises in the EU grew significantly in the same time frame, going from 27 percent to 47 percent.
A year ago, most enterprises in the EU27 used the Internet to interact with public authorities (e-government), with 74 percent of enterprises gaining information from public authorities’ Web sites and 69 percent providing completed forms.
The survey encompassed enterprises with at least 10 persons employed in manufacturing, electricity, gas and steam, water supply, construction, wholesale and retail trades, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, transportation and storage, accommodation and food service activities, information and communication, real estate, professional, scientific and technical activities, administrative and support activities, repair of computers and communication equipment.
